JamyTots Childcare Policies

At JamyTots your childs safety, wellbeing and happiness are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Policies help ensure that children are cared for in a secure, nurturing enviroment and that Parents feel confident and Informed at every step.

Safeguarding & Child Protection:

We are committed to keeping every child safe, we follow the latest safeguarding guidance and statutory requirements.

Any concerns about a childs welfare are acted on Immediately.

We work closely with Parents & relevent agencies when needed.

All visitors are signed in on arrival and supervised at all times.

 

 

Health & Safety;

Your childs safety is our priority

Daily risk assessments are carried out in all play areas 

Toys and equipment are cleaned and checked regulary and replaced immediately if damaged.

Fire Drills are practised termly

Fully stocked First Aid kits are always available

 

Accidents & Incidents 

All accidents are recorded and shared with Parents the same day

Parents are notified Immediately if medical attention is required 

Incident forms are kept securely.

 

Illness & Infection Control

To keep everyone healthy

Children with contagious Illnesses must stay at home until fully recovered

If a child becomes unwell during the day Parents will be contacted to collect them

We follow the NHS guidance for exclusion periods ( eg: 48 hours after Sickness /  Diarrhoea)

 

Medication Policy

Only prescribed medication in the original packaging can be administered 

Parents must complete a medication consent form

All doses administered are recorded and shared with Parents

 

Behaviour Management 

We promote kindness, respect and positive behaviour

Gentle guidance and clear boundaries are used

We never use corporal punishment or humiliation

We work with Parents to support consistent approaches at home and in the setting

 

Equal Opportunities & Inclusion

Every child is welcomed, valued and supported

We celebrate diversity and promote Inclusion 

Activities are adapted to meet Individual needs

We work closely with parents and professionals when additional support is required

 

Data Protection & Confidentiality

All personal information is stored securely and used only for childcare purposes

Information is never shared without parental consent unless required for safeguarding

We comply with GDPR and ICO guidance

We aim to provide the highest standard of care but if you ever have a concern please speak with us directly so we can resolve it quickly

A written record of complaints is kept and available for Parents

 

Food & Allergy

Healthy food and snacks are provided 

All allergies and dietrary needs are strictly followed 

Parents must inform us of any new allergies or changes

 

Outdoor Play & Trips

Children play outdoors daily weather permitting

Risk Assessments are completed for all outings

Parents are informed in advance of any planned trips.

 

Goverment funding:

As registered chilminders we participate in the governments 15 and 30 hour free childcare scheme.

Eligible families can access up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week, during term time.

Additional hours if required outside the funded entitlement can be arranged at our standard hourly rate.

The governments 30 hour funded childcare does not include the cost of meals and extra curricular activities. These will be charged separately.
